Deathgeist is a Brazilian Thrash Metal band formed in January 2017 by Adriano Perfetto and Victor Regep, both former members of the cult act Bywar.
From day one, the mission was clear: to revive the raw, uncompromising spirit of 1980s thrash metal, while forging a strong and recognizable identity through sharp songwriting and a modern, devastating attack.
In the band’s first months of activity—joined by Maurício Bertoni on bass and Goro on drums—Deathgeist entered the studio and released the self-titled debut “Deathgeist” (2017).
The record quickly drew attention across the Brazilian underground and earned excellent reviews not only at home, but also from specialized media in the United States and Europe, establishing the group as a new force within the global thrash metal scene.
Amid an intense live schedule, 2019 saw the release of the second album “666” — heavier, darker and more mature — cementing Deathgeist among the leading names of contemporary Brazilian thrash.
Later that year, the band underwent an important lineup change: drummer Goro stepped down and was replaced by Fernando Oster (Woslom), bringing renewed rhythmic energy and even greater precision and brutality.
At the end of November 2020, during a turbulent global period, Deathgeist issued the single “Curse of the Mandrake,” revealing a band that had become even more cohesive and creative.
The global health crisis, however, postponed shows and forced the cancellation of the “666” touring cycle across 2020 and 2021.
Away from the stage, the band channeled frustration and intensity into writing a new album.
That creative surge resulted in the third full-length “Procession of Souls,” released on January 7, 2022.
The record deepens the band’s dark atmosphere without sacrificing the speed and aggression that define Deathgeist, and its strong reception led to two official music videos for “Procession of Souls” and “Living Dead Melody,” further expanding the band’s visibility in Brazil and abroad.
In 2023, Deathgeist returned to the stage at full force, playing key shows nationwide, including a memorable performance at the SESC Cultural Center, marked by crystal-clear sound, striking lights, and overwhelming stage presence—reaffirming their status as a devastating live thrash machine.
Keeping their creative engine running fast, in 2024 the band released the single “Invisible Abyss,” blending absolute heaviness, dark melody and intelligent arrangements, accompanied by an official music video that intensified its claustrophobic and visceral atmosphere.
In 2025, Deathgeist entered the studio to record their fourth album, “Underworld,” described as their darkest, most technical and ambitious release to date.
Underworld is scheduled for a worldwide release on January 9, 2026, marking a new chapter in the band’s trajectory and reinforcing their position in the international thrash metal scene.
That same year, Deathgeist will take another decisive step: their first European tour, bringing their aggressive and visceral thrash to stages across Germany, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Belgium, France, Spain and Portugal.
With cutting riffs, dark atmospheres, and lyrics moving between horror, existential reflection and human chaos, Deathgeist continue to rise as one of the most intense and uncompromising names in modern Brazilian thrash metal.

Meaning: “Underworld” is a journey that explores the darkest themes of human existence, from the judgment of the dead in the Egyptian underworld to the manipulation and control of the human mind. The lyrics are a blend of mythology, fantasy, and reality, creating a dark and immersive universe.
