Formed in Milan in 1997, IRA have steadily built a reputation as one of the most compelling names in the Italian extreme metal underground, blending intensity, technique and sheer impact.
Between 2004 and 2007 the band released a string of devastating, highly praised demos — among them “Chaos Regression” (2005) and “Dawn of World Redemption” (2007) — showcasing a sharp sense of songwriting and a natural flair for complex structures.
The definitive breakthrough arrived in 2012, when IRA wrote, arranged and produced their first full-length, “The Syndrome of Decline.”
A fierce and convincing fusion of death metal and thrash, the album stands as a must-hear for fans of the genre, delivering tightly woven riffs, sudden twists, and a progressive/technical edge that never dilutes the aggression.
The record was recorded and mixed at Syncropain Studios with producer Marco Ribecai (Node, Eldritch) and mastered by Goran Finnberg at his personal mastering studio, resulting in a sound that is both massive and razor-sharp.
